>Charley Marcuse, the Detroit Tigers' operatic hot dog vendor, is headed to Toledo. The Mud Hens, the Tigers' Triple-A affiliate, offered Marcuse, 22, unlimited time to sing his "HoOoOtT DoOoOgGs" aria this weekend. The Tigers allow him only one aria per game.
The Birmingham, Mich., resident drew worldwide attention when Tigers officials told him in May to stifle his singing. He wound up singing on "Good Morning America" and was interviewed by the BBC. Fans responded with petitions, a Web site and T-shirts proclaiming, "Let Charley Sing."
Marcuse said he'll belt out his song three times per inning during the Mud Hens games against the Richmond Braves on Saturday and Louisville Bats on Sunday. |

Toledo Mud Hens Pictures From Fifth Third Field, Toledo
In spite of the fact that the Mud Hens had lost 10 straight games, 10,300 fans flocked to the stadium which holds 10,400 on Saturday night for a game between the Mud Hens and the Richmond Braves. Charley The Singing Hot Dog Man, was on Toledo Television on Friday night announcing that he would be at the park on both Saturday and Sunday selling hot dogs and singing.
One is able to park across the street from the stadium for $6.00. At Comerica Park one must park at least a block away and have to pay $20.00.
Standing Room Only tickets are $6.00 rather than the $15.00 at Comerica Park and most other tickets go for $8.00. After crossing the street and walking into the Home Plate gate one could stand behind home plate and be only about 27 rows away from the field.
Charley was the only Hot Dog Vendor, because the Mud Hens do not normally sell hot dogs in the stands, but they felt it was necessary to rig up a makeshift container for Charley. The fans had advance knowledge that Charley was going to be there and they welcomed him warmly, often applauding after he sang. He roamed the entire stadium, both upper and lower decks and after the game many fans stopped by to say hello to Charley on their way out.
The headline for 7Online.com out of New York used the Line Corporal Klinger Would be Proud So Charley went to Tony Packo's, often referred to by Jamie Farr as Corporal Klinger in the Mash series, where he was asked to sing for the patrons
